Dear [[FIRST_NAME]],

Learn to sail returns to Carrum

For the first time in many years, learn to sail is returning to the club this Feburary. We have instructors, we have dates - now we just need some sailors!

We will be partnering with the experienced instructors at Smooth Sailing School who will also be providing equipment.

Aimed at teens and adults (aged 13+), the Start Sailing course is designed to make getting on the water simple, safe and fun. No experience is required – our instructors guide you through the basics, from rigging and boat handling to understanding wind and weather. Step by step, you’ll build the skills and confidence to sail independently and enjoy the adventure of sailing.

The cost incldues 20 hours of professional face to face instruction, use of all equipment and full CSMBC sailing membership!

Course dates:

Sat 7th Feb 9am-2pm
Sat 14th Feb 9am-2pm
Sat 21th Feb 9am-2pm
Sat 28th Feb 9am-2pm

Visit Smooth Sailing School for the full details and registration or get in touch with us if you have questions.

Welcome Tess, Nathan, Brendan and Andrew
  Welcome

Welcome to our newest members!

Andrew came along for one of our several blown out attempts at come and try days in Spring, but he hasn't let the gale force winds put him off. He's signed up via our upcoming learn to sail course.

Brendan sailed Optimists as a kid and the long-dormant sailing knowledge is slowly coming back to the surface. You'll most likely see him crewing or skippering on one of our club Pacers.

Tess and Nathan came along for one of our come and try days, sailed the Pacer but are very keen on the windsurfer LT currently.

Make sure to say hello if you spot them in the boat yard or down at the beach!

Club Windsurfer LTs

The latest addition to the club fleet are two Windsurfer LTs, available for members to use. Windsurfer LT is the new old-school windsurfing class. Easy to learn and fun, with a huge wind range. The course handicap is in the same range of a Laser dinghy. Here's 5 minutes of LT racing action on youtube to give you a taste of what it's about

If you want to sail these, talk to Simon: membership@csmbc.org.au

Club racing restarts in Febuary

Club racing is scheduled to re-start on Sunday February 1st at 1PM. Check out the full calendar here: https://www.csmbc.org.au/events.

Racing at Carrum is fun and casual - come join us!

In the meantime, there's plenty of social sailing happening. The best way to stay in the loop with who is sailing when is to join our WhatsApp group - see the item below.
