Club boats
The club has several boats for member use. For safety and to keep our gear in good condition, you must be approved before using a class of boat. Each class has one or more responsible people who can instuct members on use and approve.
- Pacers (2)
- Pacers are small two person dinghies, ideal for learing and fun in strong winds. They can also be sailed single-handed
- We have two pacers and they are our most used boats
- Responsible people: Drew and Simon
- Lasers (2)
- Lasers are single handed dinghies and more powered up than a Pacer. For all their simplicity they get around a course relatively quickly
- We have two complete lasers for member use
- Responsible person: Laing
- Sabre (1)
- The Sabre is a single handed class designed by former club member Rex Fettell to handle the strong sea breezes and chop of Port Phillip bay
- The Sabre is a special boat for us in that it is old and wooden, so we are a bit more particular about who sails it
- Responsible person: Drew.
- Windsurfer LTs (2)
- The windsurfer LT is a growning class that brings back the retro fun and participation of the glory days of windsurfing
- The LT can be sailed in 2 to 25 knots and gets around a race course well - the more wind the better they go against the dinghies
- We have two windsurfers, each with a 5.7m2 race sail and a 4.5m2 learning sail
- A bouyancy vest must be worn when using the windsurfers, even when sailing close to shore
- The windsurfers can also be used a SUPs. Each has a paddle and legrope. Please use a legrope when SUPing
- Responsible people: Simon and Tess (small sails only)
