Sunday 25/10/2026 - Session 1
- quick theory session on points of sail, basic boat safety and parts of the boat
- get into the water for a short sail with a volunteer
Sunday 01/11/20206 - Melbourne cup long weekend
- No formal sailing planned - social sailing with eperienced skippers
Sunday 08/11/20206 - Session 2
- recap parts of the boat and rigging procedures, knot tying
- pair up and go for a sail (this will depend on numbers) supervised by rescue boat
- capsize drills
Sunday 15/11/2026 - Session 3
- explain what gybing is and the associated dangers
- get out on the water again to refine skills
Sunday 22/11/2026 - Session 4
- practice a race start and stopping the boat + MOB proceedings
- further develop skills
